HELEN KELLER
She was born in Tuscumbia, on the 27 June 1880 and died in Easton, on the 1 June 1968. She was a deafblind writer, activist and a teacher. She became deafblind at the age of 1 year and 7 months (19 months). In 1888 Helen started to study in the Perkins School for the blins. Anne Sullivan was her teacher but also friend and educated her with the Tadoma metode, that consists in touching the lips and the neck of who you’re talking to. Then she will learn to read in english, french, german, greek, latin in Braille. In 1903 she pubblished her first book “The Story of My Life”. That is the first of eleven books and articles about her and her story.
She is an example for all the people that doesn’t believe in their selves because she teached us that if we wan’t to do something we can do it also if it seems impossible.
